Part: 2/?
Author: havah24601
Rating: T
Pairing: Gabe Saporta/William Beckett, Brendon Urie/Ryan Ross
POV: 3rd Person
Summary: Brendon Urie finds himself hopelessly in a reciprocated love with a newly pronounced war hero, Ryan Ross. Brendon's well educated and witty cousin William hates NOTHING more than Ryan's close companion, the seemingly brutish Gabriel Saporta. With the help of Ryan and Gabe's close companion Gerard Way and William's uncle, Pete Wentz, Brendon and Ryan attempt to trick Gabe and William into loving each other. However, Mikey Way, Gerard's scorned brother will stop at nothing to ruin the happiness of the two potential couples.
Disclaimer: This is based intensely on Much Ado About Nothing, by William Shakespeare, which I think is possibly the funniest play ever written.

Author Notes: Because this week has been upsetting to a lot of people, I give you a double post.

“Pete, Pete, Pete.” Gerard Way, walked towards his host, flanked by his brother Mikey, his attendant, Ryan Ross and Gabriel Saporta, a grin in place on the face of the prince. “It has not been long that I have been away, but it is far too long since I have been a guest in your house.”
“I am in full agreement, Gerard.” Pete shook hands amiably with his old friend.
“I did not expect such luxury – I sent my man only a few hours ahead of me.” Gerard looked around, admiring the state of the courtyard, which he had been lead to almost as soon as he had arrived.
“Your letter gave me reason to celebrate and this yard has been living in a painfully average state long enough. It was time to give it a little attention.”
“Your hospitality is joyfully noted.” Gerard offered Pete a kind smile.
“Thank you, Gerard.” Pete bowed his head gently as William and Brendon approached.
“Ah, this is your son?” Gerard gestured towards Brendon, who bowed his head politely.
“So he tells me, so he tells me.” Pete nodded, looking sideways at his son.
“Sir, do you doubt him?” The tall man standing to Gerard’s right cocked his head to the side. “For I cannot imagine that you would have enough cause to doubt your son’s reality to prompt actually asking him if he is, indeed, your son.”
“Saporta, it’s good to see you.” Pete shook the man’s hand.
“Gabe, please.” Gabe smiled as he shook the hand in return.
“Gabe, of course.” Pete nodded. “And concerning your question, I did not doubt that he is my son, save for his quiet and reserved demeanor – I would not assume someone of my bloodline to be so held back.”
“Well I do see some resemblance, sir, for the hair on his head greatly resembles that which you possessed before age began to take it over.” Gabe joked, despite the fact that Pete, while having some grey hairs sporadically throughout his head, was largely still brunet. Gabe’s comment was met with slight chuckles, though largely shrugged off as Pete and Gerard walked towards the table to get drinks, followed by the man who had been standing to the Prince’s left, Ryan Ross. Brendon watched as the three men walked away, eyeing the youngest man closely.
“It is a wonder, Signor, that you still speak when it is clear no one chooses to hear you.” William spoke up, moving towards Gabe.
“Oh William, you did give me a fright,” Gabe feigned. “For I had presumed you to be dead.”
“Dead, sir?” William questioned. “Why would I be dead?”
“You carry with you such great disdain for all things that I had assumed it would have consumed you entirely by now.”
“Disdain is not enough to kill a man.” William shrugged. “It is I who is surprised to see you still breathing, after all, a bumbling idiot such as yourself would seem an easy target on the battlefield.”
“Had my horse the speed of your tongue and my blade the sharpness of it I daresay I would have killed twice as many as I did in the war.”
“Oh, but good sir, do you not understand?” William cocked his head to the side. “Twice zero is still nothing.”
“On the contrary, I fought quite well.”
“So I heard, but so I did not believe,” William retorted.
“Then you did not believe so incorrectly, for I have done well enough to keep you and your disdain living solely off of the flesh of my dead for at least a full lifetime.”
“Would that I were a cannibal such as you appear to be, perhaps I would take you up on that, but alas I am not, so I shall not.”
“I beg to differ, my dear William, for your harsh words have feasted upon the dignity of many a good man.”
“The men that my words harm are only those who deserve the disdain of my tongue.”
“If that be the case, then you must believe that walking, talking and breathing alone be reason enough to warrant your bitter, juvenile insults.” Gabe smirked as he finished his statement.
“My insults are juvenile, good sir?” William scoffed. “Yet it is you who pokes fun at my uncle for graying hairs and potentially illegitimate children. I believe that it is your insults, and not mine, that are mere child’s play.”
“Perhaps it is possible that you are correct, William, as you sometimes are, but more likely is it that you are not correct, as you are so often wrong.”
“I-” William opened his mouth to retort, but he was interrupted as the prince began to speak.
“If I might have everyone’s attention, please?” All eyes went to Gerard as he spoke. “It is my great pleasure to announce that my close friend Pete has invited not only myself, but my brother, Signor Saporta and young master Ross to impose on his hospitality for at least a month’s time.”
William rolled his eyes at the announcement, slightly annoyed that he would be forced into the company of Gabe Saporta for such a great amount of time. However, when William looked over at his cousin, he caught the slight blush that ran across the boy’s face as the news was announced. William turned again, watching Pete lean in to speak to Gerard’s brother.
“I am pleased to make your acquaintance, Michael.” Pete shook the young man’s hand. “I am pleased to have the blood of Gerard joining us.”
“I keep a quiet tongue,” Mikey informed him. “But with the few words I do speak, I thank you.”
“If you are of a reserved disposition,” Pete replied, “than I am of great honor to receive so many words from you.” To this, Mikey solely nodded in response, feeling the reaction appropriate. Pete accepted the nonverbal reply and turned, his voice loud, to the rest of the people in the room. “Come, come! Let us go to dinner, for we have a substantial feast waiting to celebrate the successful return of our friends.” Pete turned, Gerard with him, heading from gathering room to the large dining hall. William, glad for an excuse to break off conversation from Gabe, nudged Brendon forwards, urging him towards the dining hall. The party left to dine quickly, leaving only Gabe and Ryan behind in the courtyard.

I'm sorry it won't be a surprise!!! Yeah, Mikey's going to be interesting to write in this role.
I love Beatrice.
Oh, thank you so much!
I haven't seen that movie.
At pretty much everything, because any story that I've ever read by you, whether it be on here or on fanfiction, has been absolutely astounding.
Gabe and William are easily becoming my favorite pairing in this, so far at least.
The bantering is just hilarious.
Ohhh and Brendon watching Ryan, well if everyone didn't already know what was going on in Brendon's head he could be considered a stalker :O
Good thing he isn't!
I dind't WRITE this story, Shakespeare did, I just took the god damned plot and made gabe and william and ryan and brendon a part of it and made it more...modern slightly. That's how fucking useless I am.
and this is awesome and hilarious. much love, amor.
I'm glad that you like it!
Sorry if I took long to read. Things have been "off" since the breakup news and also, I had quite some stuff to do.
<3 <3 It's ok!
lol
I Happen to agree with you about the Much Ado About Nothing being so awesome, so I thought I'd take a peak at your fic here. Have to admit Brendon in that role...I would have imagined Ryan would match more personality wise. Other than that. good stuff. good stuff
:)
I put Brendon in the role not because he fit it better but because Ryan fit Claudio better - I mean Ryan has a temper, as was seen in the guitar burning video...so I can see him over reacting about the whole...you know...events to come, I couldn't see brendon doing that.
Can't wait to see who Don Jon the Bastard is XD
teehee. I'll tell you now - t's mikey way.
Heh heh, Ryan does talk in the chapter. :D
